Trompe l’oeil
This seems to be the WE of the disguises. It started with a new cache from yours truly.
Without revealing too much, the container is something different from the usual suspects. As usual, I’ve tried to put the cache in a historical and/or biological valuable place. I hope that people will like it. More cache details at Allemaal beestjes GC1NM5W
Yesterday, a playfellow came to visit my son and it was raining. I couldn’t resist to go for a small geocaching trip. First to tackle was Vissenaken – plateau GC1NHDN. When I read the logs, I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was that it wouldn’t be easy. After 30 mins of searching in the rain, I had to throw in the towel and had to call in some extra resource. After I heard to extra tip, I hated myself not noticing this cleverly designed hiding place. After that, I went to find Wulmersum – me transmitte sursum GC147CT. I found the solution for that mystery cache earlier that day. The writing system might be very know in some some circles, but was unknown to me and I had to look up things. After some translation battles, I could conjure up the coordinates. The stash itself was –despite being nicely packaged – not difficult to find. I had to leave my car some bit further in order not to have the same problems as before. The walk was rather nice though since it stopped raining for half an hour.
Today, the in-laws paid us a visit. After making some nice dinner and pie for them, I was dismissed for duty and I could for a small trip of 5 geocaches:
- Famille nombreuse GC119D1: a traditional cache hidden at a quiet and peaceful, despite the nearby highway
- Planespotting GCG8B8: planespotting seems to be an as strange hobby as geocaching for outsider. Disguised as a spotter, I could log this discretely.
- M GC1B9ZD: this cache has the reputation of the best camouflaged cache in our region. Despite being prepared for this, I couldn’t discover this without calling the owner. I was very close though. All eulogy in the logs are more than true and deserved.
- Galgenveld GC11FPJ: a mystery I could solve by using the right decryption method. Arrived on the spot, I found it rather quickly.
- No nonsens! GCJJHX: the name says it all. A classis cache with spot on coordinates. It took a bit because I was looking at the wrong place.
