The Race Begins
Today the Great TB Race kicked off. This Travel Bug race – organised by TripCyclone - started today and ends exactly one year later (January 8th, 2010).
The race will be of a slightly different design than a typical “how far will it travel” race. In this race, the race is for points. Points are awarded for meeting certain goals. Meet the goals and your travel bug earns points. Earn the most points by the end of the race and you win.

Needless to say that I’m one of the contestants with the Belgian Beer Bug. Is there a better way to represent Belgium then with its beer? Belgium counts about 115 breweries producing more than 1000 beers in total.
I’m a typical example of a Wheat beer, originated in the Flemish part of Belgium in the Middle Ages. Traditionally, I’m made with a mixture of wheat and barley. This bug is a tribute to this type of beer and the Belgian Beer mastery in general. The bug represents a filled glass of Wheat beer with a geocaching twist since it has a compass built in.
If you like my TB or any other contestant, please discover the The Great TB Race Starting Line and grab one of the TBs and make it travel the world. The competition is fierce, so I would prefer you take mine first. Once left the starting cache, you can check this page in order to now where it is in order to help it travel even further. Don’t forget that it’s not about distance alone but about earning points. See above for details. Many thanks in advance.

If I was in Missouri, I’d give you a hand, but alas, I’m not. Good luck with the race. Sounds like fun.
