I’ve seen this WE two nice examples on how diverse geocaching can be, even if speak about the same type of caches.
In my previous blog, I’ve unboxed my new Orgeon 450t. Now I’m going into the filed with it.
Last Saturday, I had an off-day, certainly when you see it on an environmental way. I spent the whole afternoon in driving 90 km. On top, it was all for nothing.
Today I had to go to Antwerp for a photo shoot. For those who don’t know me that long: besides computing as a profession, I used to do things in media like film, TV, commercials and ads.
First day of my holiday with the kids whilst the wife went to work. I had planned a visit to the cinema. It was the first week the movie Bolt in a local cinema a bit further from home. It’s still one of the few small scale chain, independent from the big players. /p Read more…
Today was one of these gloomy days and the wife didn’t want to do a cache in the rain, even if it was a letterbox cache. Instead we went to visit the Africa museum in Tervuren which isn’t that far away from home. It has been somewhat 15 years ago that I’ve visited it. The museum is doing their best to cast off their musty image and it shows.
After the caching raid last monday, this WE seems rather slow geocaching wise. But there some ‘extenuating circumstances’ which I can as excuse. First of all, I had to go to hospital for a checkup after a surgery nearly 2 years ago. My lower jaw was unlinked and reconstructed for orthodontic reasons. I guess the surgeon wanted to know if his masterwork was still in one piece. I knew that I had some time left before it was my turn – I had an appointment at 5:45PM and I was still there at 8PM – , so I decided to discover a couple of cashes on my way to the hospital. I went yesterday to Antwerp in order to do some shopping for all my GPS gear. My car navigation unit had some troubles after an update to the Navteq Q4/2008 maps. The installation process told that it couldn’t on the standard 2 Gb SD card. A second try (without deleting anything) worked but the side effect was that the installation process wiped al my bookmarked addresses. Contacting Navigon didn’t reveal much, which seems to be common for this manufacturer. Read more…
Today is my birthday. My wife wanted to celebrate this with X-mas shopping. I didn’t find the most exciting day I could imagine on my birthday so I went for a caching day instead. After being a roadie for my son, who was giving a concert on his (music) keyboard for his classmates on the last day school of the year, I headed to my first cache. I was really near the parking place of my first cache, I need to stop for a post van, blocking the narrow street. It was a peaceful and nice day, I didn’t hoot and waited patiently until he departed. Then suddenly, the van moved speedily backwards. Bang, on my car. I didn’t have the time to hoot anymore. Result, nearly 2 months after my previous accident the front of my car is damaged again
. Caching seems to be a dangerous sport. After a delay of 45 minutes I could tackle my first cache of the day. Read more…
