It’s official: a Palm Z22 sucks when it comes to complete paperless caching. It’s ok for what cachemate covers, but when it comes to paperless spoilers, it’s pretty useless. I was doing the “De andere Bron” GCK1HD multicache and everything went smoothly on this nice walk. That was until it was time to discover the stash itself. I had a bit of deviation in the wood and thus I needed to rely on the spoiler. As you can see below, there a lot of trees on the picture. Read more…

Starting peacefully

After the past festivities, it’s time to get back to business. That is off course geocaching business. On my last X-mas vacation day, I needed to drop off the music keyboard my son borrowed from a friend/colleague of mine. As always, I try to combine this with some stash hunting. Nobody else of the family wanted to join me, so I’ve put 8 caches on list. It’s kind of a loop that I made on the south of the Belgian province of Limburg, which is a very nice region. Today was rather peaceful: I encountered only one muggle. These are 8 cashes I’ve found in 2 hours time, which I think is rather fast. Last cache of the year

Today is the last day of the year. A remarkable year with the last 4 months – although it started for real in October – into geocaching with 62 finds. It wasn’t always easy or pleasant. My inexperience, the weather and a couple of accidents casted sometimes a shadow over the geocaching party. I still like it though and I have even tangible plans for 2 additional caches of my own. Action Man

It’s X-mas holiday, so plenty of time for geocaching , although I don’t want to overdo it. Therefore I did yesterday only 2. My son needed to go to the podolog, so I searched for a couple of cache in that neighbourhood: Read more…

Modus operandi

Yesterday afternoon started my X-mas holiday until January 5th 2009. The ideal time to do some extra hunting. I started with a cache that I’ve been looking for a week earlier. As mentioned in a previous blog, I couldn’t find it due some deviation problems with my GPSr. At least I though so. Freggie confirmed that I was indeed the right neighbourhood. So I did a second attempt as a kind of appetizer for the end of year lunch with some colleagues. Read more…

Frustration day

I visited yesterday a friend who designs lamps from driftwood, stumps, etc. I made a site somewhat a year ago for her.  This site was created in Flash and not well maintainable. So I recreated the site in WordPress in order that she could update the site on her own without being afraid to ask me doing things for me. The result can be seen at http://www.licht-hout.be/ Read more…
