Stollen identity
It’s that time of the year again, where there are more important things, and one can forget about geocaching, geeky stuff and other frustrations.
So, this is not going to be a geocaching nor Grumpy grievances. Instead I want to share a recipe with you. It’s a more traditional one: Christmas stollen. Don’t despair, it isn’t that difficult to make and doesn’t take much time to make either.
Ingredients:
- 100g eggs
- 100g egg yolks
- 130g sugar
- 100g flour
- 8 table spoons raspberry jam
- 0,5l cream
- cocoa powder
- mint
- pink pepper
It’s a 10 steps recipe:
- Beat the eggs, egg yolks and 120g sugar into a foamy, somewhat viscous mass.
- Whisk the flour into that substance.
- Cover a baking tray with parchment paper or baking paper. Definitely don’t grease it.
- Spread the mixture out over the baking tray.
- Let it bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
- Take the pastry out and lay it over a wet (clean) towel and let it cool just a little bit.
- Spread the jam on the cake while it’s still warm.
- Roll the cake up into a log and let the cake cool down completely.
- Whip the cream together with the rest of the sugar.
- Cover the cake with the cream and decorate further with the cocoa powder, mint and pink pepper.
Having said this, like the year before, 20069 was yet another exciting geocaching year. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I did – despite my grumbling.
Concluding, I want to wish you all a good holiday and I hope to see you again next year for another fruitful geocaching year (or sooner if I can’t resist)!
