Orange city

Today I tackled the ‘De Demer cache’ GCJ6JG again. This cache is located in a city (nearby) called Diest, also known as the Orange city because of his historic connection with the House of Orange-Nassau.

This is the second attempt to discover the cache. Last time the weather ‘forced’ us to shelter in a cafĂ©. That resulted in the unpleasant surprise that it was already dusk when we found the end coordinates of this multi and thus too dark to search and to log. It didn’t start well either. I didn’t find the first tag with the coordinates for WP2. Being a beginner, I always need to discover the modus operandi of the architect of the cache. Mostly, I don’t have a clue what the type of tags to look for and where to find them. I guess I still need to gain some experience or I’m not made for this game (or is it a sport?).Nevertheless, the multi went rather smooth apart from one tag where everybody seemed to struggle a bit. I took me also some time to discover it.

Today, it was time to go to the end coordinates and find the stash. I found it within 10 minutes. When I was there, I was – as always – relying on the GPS unit, but I immediately found a spot worth investigating and bingo. The packaging contained, but the content of the cache content was dry. After logging, I left the ‘the key to every mystery’ TB29H5Z travel bug.

I had some time left and decided to go for another one nearby. This one is certainly the most adventurous and spooky one so far. I didn’t succeed to find it with the given time – my wife called why things took so long – but I’ll be back.

Sounds like at least a fun day. And don’t think you aren’t made for this game — experience comes and no matter how long you’ve done it, there’s always something new to stump you!
