Mice and bugs
It’s a warm sunny autumn day today, so I decided to find a geocache whilest being in lunch break. I picked Een huis voor een muis GC19BY8 for this purpose. I drive past this cache every day when I commute and it’s near the office. After my search for the correct access path, I discovered the stash very quickly. I didn’t even need to look for it. The wrapping of the cache made it showy and one could even could consider it as trash. After the logging, I decided that it needed a bit more camouflage. The hint is specific enough to find it anyway.
Today, I was looking to buy a couple of Travel Bugs. It strikes me that the price at EU resellers is way higher than the US prices. I even seen prices nearly 1.7 times the US price. The extra shipping costs makes it even more expensive. I wonder why that’s the case. Are these EU shops just importing the TBs from the US and calculating the duty taxes and shipping costs into their selling price? Aren’t there any manufacturers in the EU which makes Travel Bugs (under license)? This would exclude at least the duty taxes and would make Travel Bugs price wise more interesting for geoacachers in the EU.
The EU resellers mustn’t also charge such high shipping costs. A couple of TBs fit perfectly in an ordinary or padded envelope and thus mustn’t be send via courier. Courier shipment is a rip-off for a TB which has a little size and value.
