It’s a wrap

Now that the year is nearly at its end, a quick overview of the things done last fortnight.

Last week I needed to be in Alken for a duplicate of my license plate. It was seriously damaged due to the accident somewhat a month ago. Traditionally, I try to take the change to tackle some caches when I go somewhere I wouldn’t go regularly. This resulted in the following finds:

I also entered two travel bugs for two separate races. Yes, I know. I didn’t have much luck with my other TBs and it might be another waste of money, but I thought I would give it another chance. We’ll see what the future brings. More on that in a later blog.

I also published a new cache: De Diepe Denker. At first sight, it looks a rather strange mystery, but a literate cacher shouldn’t have any problems with it, certainly not with the hints included. Strangely enough, people seem – due to the date provided – to link to solution to me, but that is as such not THE answer to THE question.

Last night, Freggie, Il Imperiesto, ThierryP and I tackled Zodiaque by Indiana Jack (GC20ZP8), which is a 20 km night cache. Freggie proposed this cache to close this year nicely. I was a bit afraid I wouldn’t come along since I slipped on a ice spot in the woods whilst I was searching for the container of Moemmedel (GC21Z9P), a nicely hidden first cache by pussinboots. I hurt my leg, wrist an knee but my physiotherapist fixed me and – apart from a small cramp – everything went fine. The conditions were far from normal though. The weather forecast didn’t the predict the pouring rain we had for 2/3 of our trip. Not only our clothes were soaked, but paths were transformed in quagmires, streams and even small waterfalls. We finished, totally numb, the 19 km after 5 hours. Luckily we had some bubbles to ‘flush’ the worst mud before we went home.

Here are some pictures taken by Il Imperiesto:
