Ice, Ice Baby

This winter had of influence on my geocaching experience.

Off course there is the snow, which hamper / prevents searching caching. Headhardhat share his experiences in his latest GeoSnippits video:

But it doesn’t stop when the snow is gone. Like I experienced with Bij ons in de Jordaan by Tom Pouce (GCP03P), dirt roads are transformed in real mud pools. It took me two attempts to finish this nice multi.

When one thinks that things get a bit back to normal – and one can find very creative caches like WATERLEAU by SAILtm (GC229P7) or create our very first multi Won Ton Ton – it starts to snow again. The snow started to thawn again last Monday, but when I wanted to make an attempt yesterday to break my day record, the rain put a spoke in my wheels. The undersoil was still frozen and the rain made the roads very slippery, both by foot as by car. It isn’t pleasant to cache in these rigorous conditions of combined cold and pouring rain all day. I did manage to set the new day record to 29 though:

I had enough of these winter conditions and that we can enjoy better weather conditions soon.
