Hidden treasures

Last WE I’ve did some caches that showed how beautiful our region is.

But my son (Dinti) couldn’t wait for the WE and he asked we couldn’t a cache. Luckily there was a new cache published: Voor de kleinsten by il imperiestro (GC26VCC), which had all the features he wanted. It was really nearby and the mystery was specially made for kids. So we ended up logging this cache Friday evening just before bed time (for the daughter).

I didn’t have any plans for Saturday, but Dinti already asked for another cache and the girls wanted to join us. We left home at 6PM and not even a half hour later we arrived at a beautiful natural landscape at a basin. Never thought we have such things left so nearby. The multi Het Schots IJsland by Matrak (GC1J8NX) was the ideal instrument to discover this. No heavy calculation either, just tags with the coordinates of the next WP. After a nice 2 hour in the evening sun, we could put our names in the log.

Yesterday, Dinti and I went to Aarschot together with Gandalf_the_pink. The latter is a ‘newbie’ who wanted to join us in order to discover the sport a little a bit more. We made plans a couple of weeks to tackle the Dalmatencache by devildirk (GCYB85), which is also a nice multi in a nice geological environment. One seems to acknowledge this since there a was an additional Earthcache published earlier this month. Although initially not planned, it would be stupid if we didn’t tackle this one too. I’ve learned some new things on the geological genesis of this place.

Although we’ve discovered ‘only’ 4 caches, I’ve enjoyed each one of them. They show a nice aspect of this hobby.
