Feel the alchemy
Yesterday, we had a training raid in order to see if our team is fit enough to tackle the CAROLO GEOCACHING CHALLENGE #1 (Challenge) GC1M4DA
We – orsobianco, wodanza, freggie, vuurvos and me – decided to tackle the Alchemie caches by ghom, a series hidden in the Vogelzangbos in Lummen, with some extra caches on our way. Since it is in the woods with a mixture of terrain difficulties and enough kilometres to walk, we though it would be a good rehearsal for the challenge within a fortnight.
I took the opportunities to meet members of the team I only know from e-mail or phone conversations. Additionally, I could test my new iPaq 214 with Geoscout, my bum bag and Nordic walking sticks. I’m very pleased about all of them, although the latter weren’t very used very much.

The physical damage today is rather limited: a swollen left hand due to many gnat bites, stiff gluteus and a big blister on the heel of my left foot.
Update: The swelling of the hand was too big to ignore, so I headed towards the doctor. His first guess was a spider bite and he gave me a shot. If the swelling isn’t disappeared by this evening, it’ll be a horsefly and then antibiotics will be the remedy. Meanwhile I logged USO GCACA9 in order to celebrate my 250th find. This one far from easy since I’m not familiar with that region and had no clue what to look for and needed some help with this one. This is certainly a mystery/puzzle cache for me.
