Differentiation
I’ve seen this WE two nice examples on how diverse geocaching can be, even if speak about the same type of caches.
And I’m not even referring to the fact the multi was located in a city whilst the other one took you in the woods. It’s the way how one should determine the end location.
All started on Saturday where a temporary association of the cachers Hammer of Doom, SAIL.tm, JorenP, Freggie and yours truly wanted to celebrate the 1000th find of Il imperiestro. He was in the assumption that he would only be joined by Hammer of Doom, but the latter arranged that some other of his geocaching friends would popup somewhere between the parking coordinates and WP1. When the crowd was complete, we could start with Facts & Figures by Marc7 (GC1ZTNN). And promised to be an intricate one, since previous logs even spoke about 6 hours (for a city cache of 4 km!). The ‘problem’ is that one needs to find ALL numbers on façades of the houses, followed by calculating things in order to get the end coordinate. I’m not so keen on heavy calculation caches, but the nice company compensated things. The joined forces made us finish in time, even with 2 breaks, and I could join the wife and daughter is some shopping.

Yesterday, I tackled a different type of cache: Wie cachet die vindt by freggie (GC2483F). Without spoiling anything, I’ve never seen such type of creativity. The WPs are as such easy to find and contain ‘only’ a tag. But the tags themselves let me scratch my head several times and – since I’m not the brightest cacher – I needed to call the owner twice due to misinterpretation. Let this be clear: it’s a must do. You’ll enjoy it if you’re looking for something else than film canisters. I praised the caches by Freggie several times, but this is certainly a smash hit.
To close the WE and celebrate my 600th find, I’ve logged the virtual GREEN HEAD CACHE by jpbairkc (GC1509).
