The Search Jaunt

Freggie was on the verge to be a kilocacher, but a partnership called “The conspiracy” made sure that this became a lengthy process which he’ll remember for a (hopefully long) while.

All started with the plan early July that we should do something special to celebrate Freggie’s 1000th cache found. We founded the group called ‘The conspiracy’ with the following members:

• The Auditor aka Wodanza
• The Encryptor aka Weedboer
• The Cartographer aka Vuurvos
• The Mystic aka Searchjaunt
• The Tactician aka GeocacherQ
• The Alchemist aka Orsobianco

and a special guest star The Manipulator aka Mrs Freggie. Without the help of Freggie’s wife, this mission wasn’t a success, since she was the necessary liaison and source of info in order to achieve things. But we provide her only the necessary info in order that she couldn’t be made suspicious and she could have some fun too.

It all started end of July when Freggie found a letter – dropped by Mrs Freggie, since we couldn’t access it when they were on holiday – in his poultry house. Freggie should stop logging caches and wait for instructions. Meanwhile he could start with decipher a hidden message in this letter. We even deceived him by saying that it could be not visible with normal light. That seemed to result in the fact that he went to a store and asked to scan the letter with an UV light, which is used to detect a counterfeit. The fun thing was that – apart from a rather meaningless skit on one of his caches – there wasn’t anything useful but it kept him busy until we were ready for his next challenge: find out who ‘The auditor’ is and where to find him. ‘The Auditor’ made a quiz about his geocaching history that should be answered in the field. Solving it all, would result to the alias of the next person the ‘The conspiracy’. Freggie needs then to find out what the real ID behind that alias is before he get his next task:

• The Encryptor: a steganographic puzzle
• The Cartographer: a streetview cache
• The Mystic: a liar cache
• The Tactician: a chess puzzle
• The Alchemist: a word connection puzzle

After solving all this puzzle and completing the tasks, he was ready for his final challenge on September 5th (yesterday). He had normally an appointment on that day with Vuurvos and Weedboer for some caching near the Dutch border. But for some (strange?) reason that was cancelled and he needed to wait for further instructions instead. But more on that in the next blog.
