Caching with square pants
We have a tradition going on. With the Easter Holidays we – that’s the family and some friends with kids having the same age as ours – visit an amusement park and in autumn we go to a bungalow park. So we went last WE to Movie Park in Germany.
In fact it’s our 2nd attempt. Last year it was snowing that much the moment we wanted to depart that it was useless to go to it anyway. This time the weather gods rubbed us up the right way. It wasn’t very sunny, but as long as it doesn’t rain, things are OK. The park itself was very nice. My 5 year old daughter had also plenty enough to do and there was also some amusement for elderly people like me. I like wooden roller coasters and the son wasn’t scared to join me. Movie Park is recommendable. Due to its location, it’s multi-language oriented and it wasn’t crowdie at this time of the year so no long waiting queues.
That doesn’t mean that nothing happened caching wise, although I was afraid it would be the case. The wife said on beforehand “You’re hopefully not going to geocache, are you?” I replied with a “We’ll see”. I did list up some possible caches in the neighbourhood of our hotel. One never knows
I didn’t wanted to have a cache less WE and so I went for ”Witte boorden criminaliteit I” GC1N7E1. I had solved this mystery a while ago, but when I was on the road in order to search for it, I forgot the paper with the coordinates on it. This time I had them with me, although I had to search for the cache a while since it was hidden rather cleverly.
At the end of day 1, we went back to our hotel and I saw my chance to pick a first cache really near the hotel. So I went for it, leaving the groaning wife behind, but was back well in time for dinner. The solving of his mystery “Parken in Essen” GC1HPPW cache didn’t went that smooth. Although German being one of the official languages and I could read the cache description, I didn’t understand it for 100%. So I needed some extra help, which the owner of the cache gave me.
After dinner, I could sneak away for another three caches:
My newly bought torch came in very handy. There was public lighting, but extra light was surely more than welcome.
The caching adventure doesn’t end yet. My son needs to go to a judo training camp the whole week and I need to drive him near Brussels before I go to work. Wherever I go, I try to pick up a cache. So I could log ‘Kasteel “De Ribaucourt” (S&P Event)’ GC1H59Y, ‘Helle (S&PE)’ GC1G4HJ and Beestenboel GC1FC2B.
