As blind as a bat
Or better said, I’m as blind as a mole as we tend to say in Flanders. You will understand in the next paragraph what I’m talking about.Yesterday, I wanted to do something special for my 50th, so I went for an earthcache: “De Eikelberg” GC1EQV7. This is only my second earthcache, but it shows again in what in a nice geological region I live in. So thank you Silly Walker for making an earthcache about it. There is also a multi: “De Eikelberg, een berg met een legende!” GC1EPTQ, so the family and I decided to tackle it too. First thing we noticed where the original tags. In this case, tags are a bit of an ordinary name for these original and beautifully crafted waypoints containing the coordinates of the next stage. At a certain point, we needed to look at the letterbox of a mole. Sadly enough, we couldn’t read the letter very well. The result was that we didn’t find the next stage and the rest of the family was complaining about the cold, so we headed home.
After logging “De Eikelberg”, the owner said that he was the uncle of the 11 year old owner of this multi and he would have a look at it today.
Sadly enough, I had to go to a funeral of the mother of an ex-colleague and friend of mine. Since it was a long drive of 140 km, which is rather far away in a small country like Belgium, I decided to tackle some caches alongside the highways I needed to drive on:

- Autopauze E40 Wetteren > Gent GC1FANF
- Autopauze E40 Drongen > Oostende GC1FANB
- Autopauze E40 Drongen > Gent GC1FAND
- Autopauze E40 Wetteren > Brussel GC1FANH
I had a couple of others on my list, but for some reason my car navigation unit decided to take another route than I scheduled. Since it was freezing cold, I didn’t want to make a detour and decided to focus on “De Eikelberg, een berg met een legende!” GC1EPTQ again. Silly Walker already have passed by when I arrived. The result was that the mole’s letter was better readable for me this time. It seems that I’ve only misread one figure. So I could continue my journey and enjoy the other waypoints with of course the stash as highlight.
I must say that I’ve enjoyed this multi very much. Well done Lauraenlisa. This multi certainly ends up in my favourite cache list.
