Action Man

It’s X-mas holiday, so plenty of time for geocaching , although I don’t want to overdo it. Therefore I did yesterday only 2. My son needed to go to the podolog, so I searched for a couple of cache in that neighbourhood:

  • “Het Stille Dorp” GC11M29 a typical peaceful little town with only a church with adjoining cafe. TheĀ  refuse-lorry and the plane flying over disturbed that the quietness a bit. Anyway, the hint helped to find the stash smoothly. It was hidden in a subtle way.
  • “Zie ze vliegen #2″ GC10P3B took a little bit more time to find. There was also “fake” cache which took some attention. I knew it wasn’t the cache, but I though it was some kind of mark for the real one. When I abandoned that idea and looked further away from it, I finally found the stash. This was rather a large one and I guess that the author have put a lot of time in getting this one hidden at the place where it is know. When you have such large containers, you encounter large TBs like Iron Man:
This brings back some childhood memories where I used to play with such “action man” type figures. Or beter said some cheap “Made in Taiwan” versions of them, since the real stuff where way too expensive.

Today I attacked “Gasthuisbos” GC171N0 with the whole family. In order to make it more interesting we organised a bit of a competition between the kids. The one who finds the tags the first gets a point per tag and the winner could decide on the swag swap. This multi-cache was – in a typical Freggie tradition – well designed with a lot of attention for the environment. I discovered yet another nice place in my home town. A pity that it wasn’t logged for 2 months. This cache – despite having 50 loggers already – deserves certainly more visitors.
