1 down, 5 to go?

I had to archive my first geocache today. It’s not without a heavy heart.

My two latest caches in the Allemaal Beestjes series are a source of concern. After the debacle last week with my youngest cache, the first in the series has now been logged as DNF (again!). I’ve had a look before I went to work this morning. The verdict is that it’s vanished. In contrary with last time it’s gone for good. The obvious  question presents itself whether I would recreate the cache or not. It was already answered when I arrived at work: definitely not. In fact I’m even wondering if I’ll create new caches at all. The ones in my mind require a lot of effort and I need to spend money on them. Money I can spend on better gear for my geocaching experience. That’s one thing for sure: I still love the sport and certainly keep searching. Time will tell concerning the rest.

Really sorry to hear that, but keep your spirits up.

Think of the pleasure you have brought to people by providing the cache.

You’re right. A pity that it has to end like this.

It’s a shame always, but when all hiders think this way there will be nothing left to search. Think off you cache karma :)

You’re absolutely right. But caches that vanish all the time aren’t fun either, neither for the hider neither for the one who’s searching in vain. Oh, we’ll see what the future will tell.
